Whoa! Nellie: Draw By Night ropes in people despite the rain

Last week was Bike To Work Week in Vancouver where commuters are encouraged to weather storms to improve personal health and help reduce road congestion. DBNers had their own storm to fight at Draw By Night #19 as it took place during a very rainy night. Despite this, over 65 people came and went at our Bicycle themed drawing party entitled, Whoa! Nellie.

The name was derived from a new local bike shop of the same name located on Main St and 10th Ave. Owner, Christopher Quine, was gracious enough to donate a new Linus Dutchi single-speed bike to the event. The bike is part of a raffle where all the proceeds are given to the artist-run centre and gallery, Western Front.

I’m happy to report that event sold over 40 raffle tickets and 6 memberships for Western Front. The raffle will be drawn at their annual craft-fair entitled TOQUE later in the year. Please check out the beautiful drawings below.

See you at the next one!
