In term 3, our students work with nonprofit organizations to create awareness building campaigns. The effective use of social media is always an integral part of their strategies. So, when I recently came across an article by Craig Newmark, the Founder of Craigslist and CraigConnects.org, in the Huffington Post about How the Top 50 Nonprofits Do Social Media, I took notice.
IDEO.org has just launched! IDEO, the human-centred innovation consulting firm we all know and love, has stepped it up a notch. IDEO.org works with non-profits, social enterprises and foundations to bring stability, hope and dignity to communities around the globe wrestling with poverty. And through the IDEO.org Fellowship Program, they are nurturing a community of future leaders with expertise in design thinking. To kick it off, IDEO.org has started with three projects working with Winrock International, Rockefeller Foundation, and TED.
